The Ventura Film Festival exists as an unrestricted genre international film festival that generates attention toward conservation issues such as forest and sea protection and rehabilitation, via a yearly film showcase and corresponding activities. The Ventura Film Festival founder and executive director was honored to take part, accompanied by many of Hollywood's leading celebrities, in the golden anniversary celebration of West Side Story and Hollywood's legendary footprint/handprint ceremony for Academy Award winners Rita Moreno, George Chakiris, and legendary actor Golden Globe recipient Russ Tamblyn at the Chinese Theater in Hollywood. This ceremony also acted as the official BluRay debut by Fox and MGM of the beloved West Side Story, which is universally acknowledged by critics and fans as the finest musical of all time. This prestigious recognition and participation highlights the festival's considerable reach and valued role within the cinema world.
